About Me

Hello! My name is Jordan Ashley Adams and I currently live in Kansas, USA, with my husband, our two dogs and two horses.

Line editing is a new business venture for me, stemming from several avenues. First, through my experience curating exhibits at a world history museum where I interpreted the story of artifacts and created unique content meant to engage and inspire audiences. Following this was the process of learning to write my own book with Max Gorlov at First Book Coaching, which furthered my understanding of plot structure, character development, and establishing the arc of a story. Most recently, I completed several line editing courses taught by Jennifer Lawler at Club Ed, which was as informative as it was enjoyable!

Though I do not yet have an extensive portfolio to showcase my efforts, I have received incredibly positive and encouraging feedback from the authors that I have worked with so far. I have found new joy and gratification in line editing, investing myself in the stories of others and striving for exceptional results.

If you are looking for a line editor to dig into the details, polish your prose, and bring out the best of your project, please review my services and contact me to discuss how I can help you finish your book!

“Jordan was very thorough in her edit, quick to complete the work, and offered advice above and beyond the line edit, giving me a few developmental points to consider. She was very careful to preserve my voice while cleaning up any “problem areas” that I tend to miss when writing and revising my own work. The extra questions she asked and points she brought up for consideration separate your good editors from the great ones who go above and beyond to ensure your work is the best it can be. It’s obvious that Jordan is invested in the work and makes the author shine!”

“I’ve worked with Jordan Ashley Editing on two novels now and have found her an excellent partner. What do I like about her?

  • She listens to what I want and tailors her approach accordingly.
  • She knows her stuff.
  • It’s not just line editing. She’s great at spotting continuity flaws, awkward transitions, and clunky scene structure.
  • She very much takes a partner approach and makes me feel she is fully engaged with what I’m trying to deliver.
  • She’s incredibly responsive to requests and feedback.

Along the way, I learned a few things as well, particularly about writing dialogue. Added to that she is incredibly personable while at the same time staying professional. I think it fair to say that neither novel would have turned out as well as it did without Jordan’s input, and I hope to work with her again on my forthcoming murder mystery and the 3rd episode of my fantasy series.”
